Testimonials

Peter has done several small and large projects for my old Victorian home on Grove Street. He’s always incredibly professional and accommodating. I know I can trust him to work diligently even when I’m away on vacation.
— HELENA PYO
People have been complimenting my bathroom nonstop since Peter remodeled it three years ago. Everything’s still got that new sheen and the tilework is just awesome.
— OMAR NIEVES
I’ve been hiring the Sweeneys since I first moved into my house over 70 years ago. They did my kitchen cabinets, fixed my drains, and even rewired the lights in my bedroom into a single switch! There’s nothing the Sweeney’s can’t do.
— ARASH TOUSI
I had this toilet that always had a problem. Either it was a leak or a plug. It was always giving me a headache. I’d hired other plumbers in the neighborhood, but problems would always come back. Since Peter worked on it last year, it’s been working perfectly. I’m so grateful!
— MIA ROWLAND

About Me

MY NAME IS Kenia

For the last five years, I have been helping friends and friends of friends change their job conditions. At times, folks have not been content with their pay, treatment and environment and have asked me for help. I’m passionate about sharing what I learned at Drake University’s School of Business and my experience as a hiring manager. The first person I ever coached for a job interview was my mom. I was a 14 year old telling my Spanish-speaking mom how to speak about her skills, qualities and personality. I would sit with her in interviews and have been dedicated to help primarily women achieve better working conditions for them and their families.

I currently work as the Client Relations Director at a consulting firm. In 2017, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Drake University. I’ve served on several hiring committees and coached minoritized women in Des Moines, IA.

My mission is to dismantling systematic barriers for undeserved and traditionally marginalized communities. I look forward to overcoming the job search barriers together!
